I stayed three nights in Riga for the marathon, and over the time between entering the race and arriving in Riga I'd booked, changed my mind and canceled three different hotels. Eventually, I found a really decent rate on this, had a read and decided to go for it. Location was the deciding criterion, being in the heart of the Old Town, but only a couple of hundred meters from the start/finish of the race, close to shops and restaurants so I wouldn't have to do too much walking the night before and straight after the race, so I went for it. So glad I did, I got a lovely single room, with lots of storage, a decent TV, and a mini-bar, plus a good sized and well-appointed bathroom. The single rooms were located at the rear of the property overlooking the terrace from Paddy Whelan's, but there was no noise and I slept very well. The staff couldn't do enough for me, I needed printouts, advice, directions and everyone seemed genuinely keen to help, friendly and proud of their city. Breakfast was lovely, varied, and not too busy when I went down at 8 am. I'll happily go again next time I go to Riga. Nothing more I could ask for just continue giving the guest the great service that you provide.
