Thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at the Hanza Hotel. It is ideally situated 5 mins walk from the central market and if you walk through the Market under the subway you are another 10mins walk from the Old Town. Riga has a lot to see and explore. The hotel is welcoming and offers a really good hot and cold all you can eat buffet breakfast with fresh produce regularly replenished. The breakfast room becomes the Hanza pub from 18:00 to 22:00 each evening ... excellent cocktails for 6 Euros, local beer from 3 Euros a pint freshly made fish and chips that you will struggle to find better anywhere in the world. So good was the food we chose to eat in the bar every night . The menu isn't extensive but the food is excellent in terms of quality. Housekeeping was excellent and while Rooms were kept clean and towels and bed linen changed daily it was done without being intrusive or tokenism. Tourism has not really reached Riga as a whole and much work is needed to get it to the likes of other European cities. Visit now and there are no queues waiting to enter venues., eating out is reasonable and the prices are much lower than other EU cities but Riga will catch on soon and when it does much of what we enjoyed will have gone. visit soon and enjoy it before they realize not only could it offer more but those things can come at a cost that some tourist will be more than willing to pay Nothing more I could ask for just continue giving the guest the great service that you provide.
